Class Description:
The AHA Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for employees who may be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials in the workplace. This training teaches participants how to protect themselves and others from exposure, and how to respond safely and effectively if an exposure incident occurs.
In this training, students will learn how to:
Understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread
Apply standard precautions to reduce the risk of exposure
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly
Handle, clean, and dispose of sharps and contaminated materials safely
Respond appropriately to an exposure incident and follow reporting procedures
Who Should Attend:
This course is ideal for healthcare workers, first responders, childcare providers, custodial staff, tattoo/piercing professionals, and anyone whose job responsibilities may expose them to blood or bodily fluids.
Group Class Info:
The course can be delivered in a supportive group setting at your location. It’s an excellent option for clinics, schools, childcare centers, fitness facilities, and workplaces needing OSHA-compliant training.
Certification:
Students will receive an official AHA Bloodborne Pathogens completion card valid for 1 year upon successful completion of the course.
